University of Pennsylvania historian joins Pulitzer Prize board

A position on the Pulitzer Pride board pretty much means you won’t be chosen for the prestigious award. That’s not something University of Pennsylvania historian Steven Hahn has to worry about, since he’s already won a Pulitzer.

Columbia University announced today Hahn and Bloomberg News Managing Editor Robert Blau have joined the board to oversee the prizes awarded in April. Hahn won a history Pulitzer back in 2004 for his A Nation under Our Feet: Black Political Struggles in the Rural South from Slavery to the Great Migration book.

Hahn and Blau join co-chairs Associated Press Director Kathleen Carroll, Nieman Foundation Curator Ann Marie Lipinski and Times-Picayune editor Jim Amoss. Hahn lives in Bryn Mawr.
