Two ex-Transportation Department supervisors get jail

Two former New Jersey Transportation Department supervisors are going to jail for stealing overtime pay.

Authorities say 63-year-old Alkesh Desai of Bensalem, Pennsylvania, and 53-year-old Harish Bhanderi of Newtown, Pennsylvania, pleaded guilty to theft by unlawful taking.

They admitted falsifying timesheets to collect emergency overtime pay.

A judge on Friday ordered Bhanderi to serve 364 days in the county jail after he completes three years of probation. He paid full restitution of $19,905.
