About 30 students from Las Américas ASPIRA Academy in Newark were on a bus involved in an accident Monday morning.

Delaware State Police say two students on the bus were injured along with the driver of a car that was involved in a crash with the bus this morning. The crash happened around 8:15 a.m. at the intersection of Harmony Rd. and Ruthar Dr.

In a post on the school’s Facebook page, ASPIRA Academy leaders say it was they school’s bus 3 that was involved in the accident. They say school officials quickly arrived at the scene and parents have been notified.

The two injured students were taken to A.I. DuPont Hospital for Children as a precaution. The other students on the bus were taken to the school by another vehicle. School officials say those students are being monitored by the school nurse. The driver of the car was also taken to the hospital for treatment.
