Top 4 stories to watch in NW Philly this week

Here’s a look at some of the stories that NewsWorks will be covering this upcoming week:

1. A pair of Manayunk homeowners has been struggling to co-exist with a cheerleading academy located directly across from their narrow street. NewsWorks caught up them and the owner of the business to learn what sits at the center of this strained relationship.

2. Longtime Northwest Philadelphia resident and newspaperman Jim Foster is campaiging again. This time, he’s facing off against U.S. Rep. Chaka Fattah in the 2nd Congressional District race. Check back next week for a look at Foster’s latest run for political office. It’s the first in a series of features we’ll run on the race between now and Election Day.

3. The annual re-enactment of the Battle of Germantown took place on Saturday. NewsWorks was on hand for the Revolutionary War-inspired event. Check back next week for photos of all the action.

4. Kendrick Recreation Center’s Advisory Council will tackle a host of topcis during its Tuesday night meeting.
