Tomato Trot participants run to raise money for lung cancer research in Manayunk [Photos]

The first annual Tomato Trot was held along the Manayunk Towpath this weekend.

About 200 people laced up on Saturday afternoon to tackle the four-mile run for lung cancer.  The run, which was hosted by the Couch Tomato Cafe and Tomato Bistro, was organized in honor of Arnold “Bud” Mosmen, father of Couch Tomato’s owner Craig Mosmen, who died of lung cancer five years ago.

The more than $5,000 in proceeds will be donated to the LUNGevity Foundation.

The run was followed by an awards ceremony and pizza party back at the Couch Tomato on Saturday evening.
