On Friday, Pennsylvania’s Democratic gubernatorial candidate Tom Wolf visited West Oak Lane to “walk a day” in the shoes of home healthcare worker Aretha Spady. The event was organized by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU).

“He did all the jobs properly,” said Aretha Spady of Wolf’s time on the job. “We joked together about the dishes and chores at home.”

Spady helps Leroy Evans, a resident on the 7400 block of Rugby St., which was one of the stops on the “walk a day” tour.

“I was here more than just learn the statistics and data,” said Wolf of witnessing the relationship between aide and patient.
