Threat of thunderstorms moves Runa concert to Springside Chestnut Hill Academy

The Philadelphia Celtic band Runa performed last night for nearly 300 people at Springside Chestnut Hill Academy’s auditorium. The concert was moved from Pastorius Park to the private school after the National Weather Service issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for the Philadelphia area. The storms never materialized but a decision had to be made to give the band enough time to set-up in the auditorium.

Runa’s band members include: singer Shannon Lambert-Ryan, guitarist Fionan de Barra, percussionist Cheryl Prashker and violinist Tomoko Omura on violin.

The next Pastorius Park concert is scheduled for Wednesday, July 25, 2012 and features the band Hot Club of Philadelphia. The summer music series is sponsored by the Chestnut Hill Community Fund and the Chestnut Hill Hospital.
