This week in the NEast: Feb. 22 – 26

There is a ton of stuff happening every week in the Northeast. From family events to health seminars, senior gatherings to neighborhood meetings, you’d have to quit your day job to keep up with it all. Monday, Feb. 22 Get acquainted. The Bustleton Branch of the Free Library hosts a free, twice-weekly ESL class for adults. Sponsored by the Center for Literacy, the multi-level class is meant to help adults get a better grasp of the English language. 6 p.m.

Tuesday, Feb. 23 In keeping with the literacy theme, the John Perzel Community Center welcomes its Senior Book Club. You can join this group on Tuesdays and Thursdays to discuss the latest book. 9:30 a.m.

Wednesday, Feb. 24 It’s a light week for civic association meetings, but the Greater Bustleton Civic League will meet as usual for its monthly gathering. This will be the last month the group meets at the American Heritage Federal Credit Union. 7:30 p.m.

Thursday, Feb. 25 Begin the road to recovery at Alcoholics Anonymous. The group meets weekly at Gloria Dei Church in Huntingdon Valley. 7:30 p.m.

Friday, Feb. 26 Stevenson’s Place in Wissinoming will have live music tonight, with bands from across the city, with the Natural Result leading off at 8:30 p.m.
