Thieves target Camden church vans

Five vans have been stolen and even more broken into over the last few weeks in Camden — and they all belong to churches.

Police there are investigating the crimes, which have thus far affected eight city churches, according to the Courier Post.

In one case last week, thieves took a 15-passenger van from Iglesia Pentecostal Exodus in Fairview, but returned it when a neighbor chased down the van and the three men inside it. Though returned, the steering column and seatbelts were damaged.

Until the suspects and vans can be tracked down, church-goers are helping out by picking up those who’d normally take the van.
