An FBI task force working in Wilmington Wednesday arrested a man wanted for a 2001 Tennessee homicide.

Ignacio Constantino has been on the run since 2001. The 51 year old was finally taken into custody on Wednesday after being found at the Dorjul Apartments on Simca Lane in Wilmington.

“Our jobs as law enforcement is to continue the hunt for wanted criminals no matter the length of time that has passed since they ran from police,” said Steve Vogt, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI in Wilmington. “We can’t forget because there are victims who deserve justice.”

Constantino, who had been using the name Victor Castillo since 2002, will return to Morristown, Tennessee to face charges. “This arrest is a demonstration of the effectiveness of law enforcement working together throughout our country,” said Morristown Police Chief Roger Overholt.

The FBI Safe Streets Task Force includes FBI agents and detectives, as well as New Castle County Police and members of Delaware Probation and Parole. The U.S. Marshals Service also assisted in the investigation.
