Tacony hosts annual History Day Parade

Tacony’s 20th annual History Day Parade is Saturday, continuing the yearly tradition of uniting the neighborhood with fun festivals, games and tables full of historic information and displays.

The parade begins at 11 a.m. and will lead guests to Disston Rec Center for the kids’ games and rides, live music and refreshments. Inside, you’ll find the history memorabilia.

The Cow Chip BINGO event, however, has been scrapped. It was announced at Tuesday’s Tacony Civic Association meeting that low interest resulted in the cancellation of the activity, in which people with tickets wait to see if a live cow “chooses” their BINGO square for a chance to win up to $5,000.

For more details on the parade and to purchase tickets for BINGO, call 215-338-8790.
