Delaware’s gaming industry has outlined a counteroffer to Governor Jack Markell’s proposal for sports betting. The governor’s plan includes up to 13 new gaming venues and an eight percent tax increase. The plan also leaves a lot of room for debate.
Delaware’s gaming industry has outlined a counteroffer to Governor Jack Markell’s proposal for sports betting. The governor’s plan includes up to 13 new gaming venues and an eight percent tax increase. The plan also leaves a lot of room for debate.
Gaming leaders have a plan they believe will benefit everybody.
The counter proposal would include three main points. One, allow sports betting in only the three existing casinos. Two, eliminate the proposed tax increase. And three, add a new dimension to Delaware’s casino industry: true table games with live dealers.

McGlyn: And give us table games which will generate more revenue than any tax increase more revenue than sports betting and create 750 really well-paying jobs.
The next step they say is a meeting with the Markell Administration.
