Suspects sought in 8th, 15th district bank robberies

Police in Northeast Philadelphia are looking for two different suspects wanted for bank robberies this month.

The most recent robbery took place Saturday in the 8th District at the Bank of America at 2439 Welsh Rd.  The suspect, also thought to be the man who robbed a Bridesburg bank earlier this month, fled without money after handing the teller a demand note.

He is described as a white male about 25 to 30 years old and 5’8″ tall. He has a thing build, a blond mustache and goatee, and tattoos on both sides of his neck. He was wearing a gray baseball hat, navy blue zip-front hoodie with NIKE across the chest, blue jeans, white sneaker and clear surgical gloves at the time of the attempted robbery.

The 15th District robbery happened May 15 in Tacony at the PNC Bank at 6855 Frankford Ave. The suspect took off with an undisclosed amount of money after presenting a handgun, fleeing on foot toward Longshore Avenue.

That suspect is described as a black or hispanic male in his mod to late 20s, and is 5’8″ with a medium build. He was wearing a gray or light blue bandana on his face, a dark-colored Notre Dame “Fighting Irish” hoodie and dark gloves at the time of the robbery.

Anyone with information on these suspects’ whereabouts can call the Philadelphia Police at 215-686-TIPS (8477), text a tip to PPD TIP (773847) or submit a tip online.
