Suspect in Delaware beach murder found dead in New Jersey
New information: The man wanted for questioning of a Dewey Beach motel murder victim has been found dead in New Jersey.
The victim has been identified as 26 year old Danielle Mehlman of Bensalem, Pa. She was found Monday morning at the Atlantic Oceanside Motel. Police had spent most of Tuesday asking for the public’s help in locating 26-year-old Pawan Kumar who lives at the Stratford Apartments on Naamans Road in Wilmington. Police released surveillance video in the hopes of locating him.
He turned up dead at Bellville Motor Lodge, Bellville, NJ, according to the Essex County prosecutor’s office.
Mehlman was found just before 11 a.m. Monday by a cleaning lady. The Medical Examiner’s Office is investigating and still hasn’t released the exact cause of death. In addition of wanting to talk to Kumar in connection with Mehlman’s death, Kumar was wanted for possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony.
