Young people of color represent the fastest-growing segment in the population of U.S. children.

A study conducted between May and September focused on understanding obstacles to the well-being of those youth in Philadelphia and four other cities.

Dy’Mon Pendleton, a Central High School senior, and study author Dr. Linda Sprague Martinez, assistant professor Boston University School of Social Work assistant professor and project director, offer their thoughts on the barriers to happiness the study brought to light.
