Surprise March snowstorm hits South Jersey

Meteorologist say March snowstorms are hard to predict. This was certainly the case overnight. While we knew that Northern Jersey could get the tail of the winter storm in New England, snow also fell across South Jersey too. At 1:30 p.m. snow continued to fall creating slushy conditions for pedestrians.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory until 4 p.m. This covers Central New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania. Total snow fall in these areas will be 3-6 inches.

The heaviest snowfall in New Jersey has been farther north with 9 inches on the ground in in Sussex County, 4 inches in Edison, 3 inches in New Brunswick and a trace in Gloucester County.

Saturday’s forecast calls for temperatures in the 50s, so driving conditions up north will rapidly improve.
