Suicide prevention seminar

The Medical Society of Delaware’s Campaign for Kids is hosting a free suicide prevention seminar in Newark tonight.

Emily Coggin Vera, MSW, is a project director at the Mental Health Association in Delaware. She will discuss, among other things, myths and facts about suicide, risk factors and resources.

The free public education session is from 7-8 p.m. inside the Medical Society of Delaware building at 900 Prides Crossing in Newark.

The seminar is part of the MSD’s ‘It’s OBVIOUS’ initiative, which focuses on seven critical issues affecting young Delawareans and their families. OBVIOUS is an acronym for obesity, bullying, vaccinations, intelligence, opioid use, underage drinking and suicide.
