Storm blows through, building collapses

Crews from L&I, PGW and PECO are surveying damage to buildings on the 9900-block of Northeast Avenue, where part of a roof collapsed during Wednesday’s storm.

Officials confirmed late yesterday it was a tornado that caused the roofs of R&R Car Repair and the Beer Hut to cave in. Benny the Bum’s also sustained damage, and residents from a nearby apartment building received assistance from the Red Cross because the quick-moving storm prevented them from returning home.
