State Police inspections find high number of improperly installed child seats in Pennsylvania vehicles
During a two-week period of child safety seat inspections, Pennsylvania State Police found about 77 percent to be improperly installed in vehicles.
Troopers inspected 319 seats between May 23 and June 5 as park of “Click it or Ticket” enforcement.
Where did most parents fall short? According to a statement from State Police Commissioner Frank Noonan:
failing to securely anchor the child seat to the vehicle’s seat
failing to use the child’s seat harness to hold the child in the seat
facing the car seat in the wrong direction
