Sports Complex for Kent County looking for support

Kent County groups hoping for a private-public coalition to build a sports complex are looking towards a crucial vote on Tuesday.

The Smyrna-Clayton Times reports the Kent County Levy Court Administrative Committee approved the idea and will recommend it to the full board next Tuesday.

The idea would put together a mixed use of athletic fields for local and regional use.  Tourism officials see it as boost for their efforts to market the county.  County and state money would be mixed with private money to create a similar situation as exists in New Castle County with the way Frawley stadium is operated for the Blue Rocks.
