South Jersey man found dead of gunshots

Authorities are probing the fatal shooting of a man found dead inside a car in a South Jersey community.

Mansfield Township police found 68-year-old James Dewyer around 4:15 p.m. Sunday, according to Burlington County prosecutors. Police had gone to the Monica Court location to check on a parked vehicle.

Dewyer’s last known address was in Burlington Township, but prosecutors said he hasn’t lived there for a few years.

It’s believed that Dewyer has frequently changed residences in recent years, sometimes living in area motels.
