Smithville’s holiday light show boasts more than 120 Christmas trees
New Jersey’s Historic Smithville evokes feelings of holiday wonder with a free (yes, free!) light show of more than 120 Christmas trees, beginning Thanksgiving evening.
Light Show on the Lake is an orchestrated spectacle of light and music made from over 50,000 lights. The blinking, twinkling Christmas trees appear to dance over the waters of Lake Meone.
While light shows are one of the most beloved and universally magical experiences of the holiday season, Smithville doesn’t stop there.
Every weekend in December offers memory making events like story time sessions with Mrs. Claus and $2 holiday train rides.
There’s even a “talking” decorated Christmas Tree brought into town direct from Santa’s private forest (wink, wink).
Santa, himself, will also breakfast at Fred and Ethel’s Lantern Light restaurant twice next month (reservations required).
Thursday, Nov. 24, 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. (and every Thursday through Sunday in December, 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.) – Smithville, N.J.
When using our address in a GPS it will not recognize Smithville, however Absecon or Galloway will show up on your GPS.
