Small plane crashes into New Jersey backyard; 1 dead

Authorities say a small plane has crashed into a wooded area behind a home in southern New Jersey, leaving one person dead.

Camden County spokesman Dan Keashen says the plane crashed Saturday morning in Waterford Township.

He says one person has been confirmed killed in the crash. It’s not immediately known if anyone else was aboard the plane. No one on the ground was hurt.

The Federal Aviation Administration says it is investigating the circumstances of how the Cessna 150 crashed.

The crash is the third fatal plane crash this week in New Jersey. A single-engine plane crashed into the Atlantic Ocean on Thursday, the same day another plane that had been missing since Tuesday was found in the northern part of the state.
