Shot inside a car at a Stenton stop sign, man drives to hospital

Two men were shot and another escaped injury Sunday night when a maroon vehicle pulled up next to their Ford Explorer at a stop sign and opened fire, police said.

The 30-year-old driver suffered a graze wound to his right side and a 23-year-old passenger was shot in the back during the 6:26 p.m. incident at the corner of E. Vernon Road and Michener Ave. in the city’s Stenton section.

Though shot, the driver headed toward Albert Einstein Medical Center where he was treated and released. The injured passenger was admitted to the hospital.

The suspected gunmen have not yet been found, according to police.
