Section of Shawmont Ave. closed for storm sewer reconstruction

Drivers beware: If you travel along Shawmont Avenue between Eva and Minerva streets in Roxborough, there will be detours along that road through Sept. 2.

According to a press release, PWD crews will be reconstructing a 300-foot storm sewer, which is a component of a storm water flood relief project. The project will also entail work on Summit Avenue and Eva Street to reduce flooding possibilities.

Street access will only be maintained for those who live along Shawmont Avenue.

In an effort to complete the project before the beginning of the school year, the contractor will be working extended work days and evenings.
