September 16th – 23rd Hagley Car Show, Mini-Masters, and Broadway
Assemble a dangling mobile made with buttons; make your dream house using felt shapes, craft your own checkered flag for the “DCM Speedway,” build with magnetic shape tiles, and curl up with some books and blocks on the cozy purple carpet. Delaware Children’s Museum, September 17th and 18th, 10 a.m.
The Hagley Car Show, which runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on September 18, will feature automobiles with rumble seats in addition to the more than 500 cars, trucks, and motorcycles that illustrate American automotive history. Parking for the Car Show is on site. Advance wristbands at a discount may be purchased in the Hagley Store or www.hagley.org beginning August 15. Hagley Museum and Library, September 18th, 10 a.m.
Mini-Masters: Mini Foliage Friends
As the summer draws to a close the trees will slowly turn colors and drop their leaves. Mini Masters will create a whimsical menagerie of some of their favorite animals using leaves of various shapes, sizes and colors. Please bring five leaves for each participant. Biggs Museum of American Art, September 21st, 10 a.m.
Clear Space Theatre puts on a lively revue of standards and new favorites from the Great White Way. An ensemble cast of great voices, beautiful costumes and fancy footwork are guaranteed to delight audiences of all ages. $10 per person. Kids 18 and under are free. The Freeman Stage at Bayside, September 17th, 7 p.m.
