SEPTA bids farewell to the transpass

    Starting June 1, SEPTA takes another step toward modernizing the way riders pay their fares. 

    The weekly and monthly transpass magnetic stripe cards used by bus, subway and trolley passengers will now be available only in virtual form on the SEPTA Key Card.  

    SEPTA General Manager Jeff Kneuppel spoke with NewsWorks Tonight host Dave Heller about the upcoming changes, what lies ahead for improvements in transit service and equipment, and weathering the “very tough year” of 2016.
