Just under 24 hours after the devastating blaze that primarily impacted the Seaside Park boardwalk, Seaside Heights has reopened its boards and will proceed with a weekend festival, officials say.

“Our prayers are with our friends in Seaside Park, while they’ve suffered much damage, the Seaside Heights Boardwalk is open,” the Seaside Heights Business Improvement District announces in a release.

The two weekend events, the Boy Scouts Camporee and the New Heights Festival, are scheduled to proceed.

But Friday evening’s New Heights Festival events — a bonfire, a live performance by P-Dub, and fireworks — have been cancelled, according to festival organizers.
