Coast Guard and state police crews have resumed their search for a kayaker who went missing this weekend in the Delaware River from Gloucester County.

Authorities say a woman called police shortly before 3 p.m. Saturday to report that her husband was missing. She said he had been kayaking on the river and that when she turned to look out to him, the kayak was empty.

The man’s name has not been released.

Authorities say a Coast Guard dive team entered the water around 3:15 p.m. in National Park near Beach Hill Road and continued to search until dusk. The search resumed early Sunday morning.
