Right NEast/Wrong NEast: Water main break wasn’t in Frankford

Hey, Frankford, how ya feeling after that water main break?

What water main break, you ask? The one that happened Sunday along the 3800-block of Frankford Avenue that CBS3 and Philly.com both tried to pin on you.

But that block of Frankford Avenue is south of the Frankford Creek and therefore, as we’ve had to point out oh-so-many times, not in Frankford.

Whether this is a case of media outlets getting close enough to Frankford to taste it or a case of confusing an avenue name with a neighborhood, the bottom line is, this is all wrong.

Outside media don’t care about the Northeast. We have all seen them misuse, misspell and mistake our neighborhoods and our streets, so we at NEast Philly wanted to do something about it. When they get it wrong, we set it right in a segment we like to call Right NEast/Wrong NEast.
