Resort bus service is now underway

Delaware’s resort bus service started up again today for the summer season.

DART’s Resort Tranist service runs seven bus routes throughout the week from 7 a.m. to 1 a.m.  The bus service starts today and will continue through September 18.  Routes serve Rehoboth Beach, Lewes, Long Neck, Dewey Beach, Bethany Beach, Fenwick Island, and Ocean City, MD.

Last year, 394,000 people rode the resort bus service, a 20% increase over 2009 numbers which set a record for ridership.   On Friday, DART’s Beach Connection, Route 305 begins service from Wilmington to Rehoboth Beach.  The bus will run Friday nights, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays through September 5.
