A message of support from Mayor Michael Nutter was played over the loudspeakers. Nutter was in Washington, DC for a Democratic Committee meeting.

Tasco suggested Parker fill her position in January.

“[Parker] worked here in this office, she knows the district, she’s worked the district and we won’t miss a beat because our philosophies are the same,” said Tasco.
