More than 1,000 LGBTQ activists and supporters gathered for a dance party in downtown Philadelphia to protest President Donald Trump ahead of the Republican Policy Retreat.

Both protesters and supporters of Trump started gathering outside the site of the GOP’s 2017 retreat, the Loews Philadelphia Hotel, as early as Wednesday afternoon.

Market Street was closed at 12th Street during the protest, which police say was peaceful aside from some minor fence-pushing.

The demonstration ranged from profane chants directed at the Republican congressmen staying in hotel rooms above to glow stick-waving singing and dancing.

Trump will address the retreat on Thursday along with former NFL quarterback Peyton Manning.

A similar dance protest was held outside the Maryland home of Vice President Mike Pence the night before his inauguration.
