Presidents’ Day essay contest for students in Brendan Boyle’s district

Fourth- to eighth-grade students living in Pennsylvania’s 170th Legislative District are invited to take part in a Presidents’ Day essay contest.

Pa. Rep. Brendan Boyle, D-170th, announced the contest Wednesday.

“Given the importance of teaching history, social studies and current events in our public, charter and parochial schools, this time of the year presents a unique opportunity to expose young people to the rich history of our city and our nation,” Boyle said.

Essays should be between 300 and 500 words and answer the question, Who is your favorite president and why?

Submissions will be taken via email at sheppard [AT] pahouse.net and at Boyle’s Somerton office: 14230 Bustleton Ave., 19116. Questions should be directed to Scott Sheppard at  215-676-0300.
