Preserve the art of canning at Greensgrow

Marisa McClellan, the popular foodinjars.com blogger turned author will be at Greensgrow Farms today for a book signing and canning workshop.

From 12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. at the urban grower’s Kensington locale, the author, blogger, and canner will be on site for a pickle demo. Her new book, Food in Jars: Preserving in Small Batches Year-Round, is on sale now and will be available at today’s event.

McClellan first learned the fine art of canning while growing up in Oregon. Her popular blog Food in Jars and subsequent book are full of colorful photos and how-to’s on the age-old art of canning and preserving.

Once you’ve purchased the book, learned to pickle, and asked a few questions, be sure to pick up some of Greensgrow’s produce and get started right away. Winter is coming, you know.
