Police: Woman struck, killed by speeding tow truck on State Road

Police say a tow truck kept going after striking and killing a woman as she crossed the street in Northeast Philadelphia.

The 33-year-old was hit around 5:15 p.m. Tuesday on the 8100 block of State Road in the city’s Holmesburg section.

Witnesses told police the impact threw her body 50 to 100 feet. They say the tow truck never slowed down.

Police didn’t release the woman’s name. They say she’s from Philadelphia.
