Police search for two suspects in 2nd District jewelry store robbery [video]

Employees at Belaggio Jewelry Store were frightened but not injured Friday when two suspects entered the store armed and ready to flea with inventory. Police continue their search for the suspects.

Just before 5 p.m., two men were buzzed into the store on Cottman Avenue near Large Street and forced the three employees into the back of the store at gunpoint.

The men fled after stealing from jewelry trays and a safe. Some details are available from an off-duty officer who spotted the pair: Both are black males and they took off in a green Ford Contour with Pennsylvania plates ending in 2204.

One is around 40 years old, 5’10” to 6′ tall, with a reddish beard and close cut hair. He was wearing a leather jacket. The other suspect is 35 to 40 years old, about 6′ tall and has close cut hair. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans and brown sunglasses with gold frames.

Anyone with information should call Northeast Detectives at 215-686-3153 or 3154.
