Police: Man held in killing of Philly grocery owner, 81

Homicide police say a 31-year-old suspect is in custody in the fatal shooting of an 81-year-old Philadelphia grocery owner on Christmas Eve.

The man was not immediately identified, pending charges.

Authorities have said Marie Buck was shot multiple times by a man who walked into Marie’s Grocery on Saturday, opened fire and then left without taking anything.

Her family says Buck had run the South Philadelphia market for more than 40 years and was a month from retiring.
