Delaware State Police are investigating a crash where a sports car plowed through a wall and mistakenly parked inside of a local store in Hockessin.

It was an unusual site at Reynold’s Cleaners that’s usually greeted with customers not drivers still in their vehicles. The incident happened shortly after 8 a.m. inside the parking lot of Reynold’s Cleaners located at 7460 Lancaster Pike.

According to police, 66 year old Duane Werb pulled into a parking space and instead of stepping on the brakes, he actually accelerated over the sidewalk, striking the building with his 2005 Porsche Boxster. However, Werb wouldn’t admit that he accidentally pushed his accelerator and was cited for Careless driving by police. The exterior of the business sustained structural damage but there were no injuries.

Phone calls to Reynold’s Cleaners went straight to voicemail. The store appears to have closed for the afternoon.
