Police arrest two suspects in connection with deadly shooting at Newark-area apartment complex

Two men are facing charges related to a shooting the day after Christmas that killed one man and left another critically wounded at an apartment complex near Newark.

New Castle County Police say 20-year-old Paul Lacombe of Philadelphia was arrested Wednesday in Delaware and charged with the murder of 20-year-old Michael Thomas, also of Philadelphia.  Thomas was one of two men struck by gunfire Monday afternoon at the Harbor Club Apartments off Route 4 in the Ogletown area.  Police say their investigation determined that Lacombe and another suspect, 24-year-old Elijah Pressley of Newark, conspired to rob the victims.  Lacombe is being held at the Howard Young Prison in Wilmington without bail, charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder, attempted robbery, conspiracy and possession of a firearm during commission of a felony.  Pressley is charged with attempted robbery, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony and conspiracy.  He is behind bars on $102,000 cash bail.  Police say they linked the suspects to the shootings through extensive investigation, interviews and forensics.  The other man who was shot was listed in critical condition at Christiana Hospital.
