Plant flowers at Race Street Pier, find other ways to LOVE Your Park this weekend

Love spring flowers?

You can help them grow on Race Street Pier by assisting the Friends of Race Street Pier  plant 1,000 spring bulbs on Saturday.

Tammy Leigh DeMent, the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society parks project manager who is helping the friends, said all ages are welcome, and gloves and tools will be provided – just show up at the pier at the foot of Race Street on the Delaware River at 9 am.

This is but one of many park projects sponsored by friends-of groups around Philadelphia as part of the LOVE Your Park Service Day. LOVE Your Park is a collaboration between city Parks & Recreation and the Fairmount Park Conservancy.
