Photos from Thanksgiving Day Parades Past, 1967-1973

Happy Thanksgiving, Philly. Eyes on the Street wishes you good cheer among good company today.

Things will be a bit quiet here, meantime enjoy these photos of Thanksgiving Day Parades in Philadelphia from the late 1960s and early 1970s from the Office of the City Representative, via PhillyHistory.org. (Give thanks to the good people of the Philadelphia City Archive for making images of our city’s past come to life in digital form.) Philly has America’s longest-running Thanksgiving parade, and as you can see maybe the balloons and floats and costumes got a little glitzier, but the essence is the same.

See you bright and early for The Buzz on Monday.
