Phoenixville collects 73 firearms in weekend buyback

Phoenixville officials say their weekend gun buyback was a success. Residents had the opportunity Saturday to turn in their firearms in exchange for $50 gift cards to local businesses.

The Daily Local reports the Borough Hall collection brought in 73 firearms, with some people bringing in multiple guns. Each person was limited to $250 in gift cards. It’s been more than three years since the last borough buyback, and officials are now considering holding one every two years.
