Philly Police open Regional Tactical Training Facility

The Philadelphia Police Department cut the ribbon yesterday afternoon on the new Regional Tactical Training Facility.

Housed at the Police Academy on State Road near Pennypack Street, the facility will be used for training for SWAT, K-9 and bomb squad units, and will be used to train law enforcement agencies from around the region.

Aside from training programs, the academy also hosts the Explorer Cadet program for people ages 14 to 20 considering careers in law enforcement.
