Soul closes Market Street for practice
The Soul, Philadelphia’s arena football team, closed Market Street between 16th and 17th for practice on Thursday and invited the city to watch. Coaches were connected to live microphones throughout, giving the crowd a unique perspective on the sport. Spectators had the opportunity to shake hands with players and dance with the Soul Squad. Give-away T-shirts and tickets made fans smile. “Mr. Football” (Ed Rendell) showed up as well.
