On this edition of “Recap,” we check in with Philadelphia special effects and makeup artist Dylan Pecora to see how he spent his week.

Since attending Tom Savini’s School of Special Effects in Pittsburgh, and returning to Philadelphia six years ago, he hs had a steady stream of work. After working his day job at Gamla Model Makers in Feasterville, Pecora returns to his Southwest Philadelphia home to work all night in his basement full of molds, clay, acrylic, latex, silicon paint, wigs, horns, and teeth.

While he says he’s grateful for the assignments he gets to create human gore, he says his true passion lies in the creation of monsters.
