Philadelphia scrap yard fire investigated; nobody injured

Philadelphia’s Office of Emergency Management says a scrap yard fire in the city’s Port Richmond neighborhood was quickly contained and never threatened the public.

Officials on Tuesday were still investigating the cause of fire reported about 7:25 p.m. Monday. It was under control about an hour later.

A sign on the yard says it is owned by K&A Auto Salvage. A worker who answered the phone there Tuesday says the owner was not immediately available to comment.

Nobody was hurt in the fire.
