Philadelphia Music Project grant recipients bring new music to the area

The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage has just announced the 10 local music organizations that have been awarded a total of $664,500 through the Philadelphia Music Project.

The recipients will be using this funding over the next two seasons to bring new forms of music to the Philadelphia area. The range of resulting projects spans everything from age-old religious songs, to some contemporary jazz, all the way to North and South Indian classical tunes.
