Pfizer ordered to pay $165 million

    Judge makes damages public in hormone case

    Wyeth’s hormone replacement therapy Prempro has attracted thousands of lawsuits from women claiming the medicine causes breast cancer. Wyeth is a Pfizer subsidiary.

    Most recently, a judge in Pennsylvania unsealed a $75 million punitive award to a breast cancer patient from Illinois. According to Bloomberg, Pfizer will pay out $165 million in damages so far. Read more about the hormone therapy lawsuits here
