Pastorius Park summer concert series kicks off with tunes from Suzie Brown [photos]

The 65th annual Pastorious Park free summer concert series started up on Wednesday night in Chestnut Hill with music from Suzie Brown. She performed along with her husband Scot Sax on guitar, Ken Pendergast on upright bass and Freddie Rojo on drums.

The band played two, 45-minute sets to a packed park. Families came out with pets and packed picnics in tow. The show ended with the crowd clapping loudly enough for the band to come back on stage for a much appreciated encore.

The cardiologist by day, singer-songwriter by night, stopped in Chestnut Hill as she heads out on a Northeast tour to promote her latest album.
